The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, has demolished suspected kidnappers’ camps and apprehended suspects including a pregnant woman during a coordinated operation targeting criminals on the outskirts of Abuja,
According to reports, the police had earlier busted the alleged camps located at Paze Byazhin hills near Abuja, June 11, 2026 which led to the arrest of the suspects.
The suspects were identified as Yahaya Abdullahi, Muhammed Yunusa, Shamsudeen Mustapha and the pregnant woman, Hauwa Shafiu.
Apparently, the arrested suspects reportedly confessed to being members of a notorious kidnapping syndicate responsible for a series of abductions and other criminal activities within the FCT and surrounding areas.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, speaking during the demolition of the camps he stated that the demolition is part of efforts to deny criminal elements safe havens and strengthen security across Abuja and its environs.
He further stressed that the criminal hideouts will be built for the police command squad as a mini camp for the police officers.
He said:
“We have taken over this location and our men will also have a mini camp here waiting to see where they’re going to come out from again.“
However, the command further reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations against kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes.
The development has since highlighted continued security operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks operating from remote forest and hill locations around the nation’s capital.
