South African politician and EFF party leader Julius Malema has asked MTN and other telecom companies in the country to remove data expiry or face repercussions.
Malema described the expiration date often attached to data subscriptions as representing theft of users’ money.
He stressed that no telecom companies’ data must expire. As such, users must be allowed to exhaust the entire data they pay for, however long they want.
“If you don’t remove the expiry, we will come and make your store expire,” Malema added.
