Police Arrest Content Creator Odogwu Asaba Over Alleged Rape of 20-Year-Old Woman

The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of popular content creator and filmmaker, Odogwu Asaba, over the alleged rape of a 20-year-old woman identified as Favour Agbro.

Favour, who was from Ughelli North Local Government Area, reportedly died by suicide following the alleged incident.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect is currently in police custody while detectives investigate the allegations.

According to reports, the complainant accused the content creator of sexually assaulting her under disguise of teaching her how to monetize her social media content. In a video circulated online before her death, she alleged that she travelled to Asaba after Odogwu Asaba promised to help her grow her online presence. She further claimed that he lured her to a hotel room, where he allegedly assaulted her.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to the allegation, describing his actions as the biggest mistake of his life. He expressed remorse, pleaded for mercy, and appealed for an out-of-court settlement.

However, The Delta State Police Command said investigators have begun the necessary procedures, including obtaining statements from those involved and gathering evidence to establish the facts surrounding the case.

The command urged members of the public to refrain from spreading unverified information or making prejudicial comments while the investigation remains ongoing.
