Tinubu vows second term return, blames insecurity on political foes

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has vowed to contest for a second term in office despite the country’s rising insecurity.

President Tinubu disclosed in a video circulating online that the current insecurity in the country may be blamed on his enemies. According to him, these enemies want to use insecurity to get rid of him.

“But I am a stubborn politician who refuses to go, and I will campaign for my second term,” he stated.

Reacting to the country’s rising debt, the President argued that borrowing is not leprosy. Instead, the country will have to work harder to be able to repay the loans.

The President’s statement comes amid rising insecurity and government borrowing which are raising significant concerns among Nigerians.

Consequently, many Nigerians have expressed anger at the President’s statement, describing him as unaccountable.

Bobbee said;

You’re not stubborn; you’re unaccountable. There’s a difference. A stubborn leader fights for the people. An unaccountable one fights to stay in power.

Nigerians aren’t your enemies. Hunger is. Insecurity is. Poverty is. And all three have worsened under your watch

Amid this, several users also dug the president’s old social media posts where he criticized former presidents.
