The kidnapping of Anambra-born industrialist and founder of Jezco Group, Sir Joseph Ezeokafor, has taken a dramatic turn following allegations by his eldest daughter, Ezeokafor Blessing, against her younger brother, Instagram personality Eberechukwu Jowizaza.
Ezeokafor, who was reportedly abducted while kneeling in prayer, is said to have spent 10 nights in the custody of his abductors as of the time of the allegations.
Blessing, a lawyer, made the allegations in a series of Facebook posts, where she expressed concern over her father’s situation. While questioning her brother’s public display of wealth and its alleged impact on the family.
She accused Jowizaza of portraying the family as wealthier than it is, describing his lifestyle and online display of affluence as “audio money.” According to her, the image created by his social media presence may have attracted unnecessary attention to their family. Blessing also alleged that her brother’s involvement in the family business contributed to its financial difficulties. She claimed that Jezco Group is facing substantial debts, including an alleged ₦40 billion debt to FCMB, and that one of the company’s accounts had been frozen over unpaid loans.
She further claimed that Jowizaza was removed as a director of the company and subsequently placed on a monthly salary of ₦1 million.
Blessing also questioned how her brother could raise the ransom allegedly demanded by the kidnappers. She claimed the initial demand was ₦700 million before reportedly increasing to ₦1.5 billion.
Amid the accusations, Blessing appealed directly to the kidnappers to release her father, describing him as a quiet man devoted to serving God and insisting that he did nothing to deserve his ordeal.
The allegations have sparked reactions online with attention now more focused on the apparent financial and family disagreements surrounding the Ezeokafor family.
