Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has again denied allegations of sexually abusing a minor, insisting that he never committed the offence that led to his imprisonment.
The actor made the declaration during a recent conversation, where he revisited the circumstances surrounding his arrest and conviction, claiming that he had received warnings about people who could falsely accuse him.
According to Baba Ijesha, some individuals had earlier told him that the Spirit of God warned him to pray against false accusations and people who could present lies as the truth.
He recalled that the prophecy also cautioned him against a situation that could lead to imprisonment, although he said he did not fully understand the warning at the time. When asked whether he was a paedophile, the actor replied,
“I am not a paedophile. I don’t know what they call it. Even when they arrived, I didn’t know what they were calling it there.”
He further denied defiling anyone, referencing the allegation that he used a key to sexually assault an eight-year-old girl.
The actor claimed that he challenged the allegation by asking what would happen if someone subjected his own daughter to a similar act.
Baba Ijesha further expressed regret over ignoring an earlier warning to remove something from his journey, saying he believed the incident that led to his arrest might not have happened if he had paid attention.
Recounting another encounter, he mentioned visiting Baba Owolowo, where he claimed people performed rituals before his eventual arrest.
He also spoke about Boss Bello’s residence, explaining that most of the women around the place were people he had trained professionally and describing them as his products.
Baba Ijesha’s comments have renewed attention to his controversial case. In July 2022, the Lagos State High Court convicted him of sexual assault and indecent treatment of a minor. He completed his prison sentence and regained his freedom around November 2025.
However, his latest denial does not alter the court’s conviction.
