Popular skit maker, Abdulgafar Ahmad Oluwatoyin popularly known as Cute Abiola is currently facing a series of backlash and criticism over the documentary video of his wife, Kudirat Mosumola Mahmoud childbirth.
Cute Abiola who welcomed a bouncing newborn on the 5th of April released a more than 1 hour unfiltered documentary childbirth video of his wife on his YouTube channel. This has since stirred up criticisms and backlash on social media especially on X (formerly known as Twitter).
In one of the most emotional moments on the surgery day, Cute Abiola is seen outside the theatre, visibly distressed as he offers prayers for his wife’s safety. Also revealing that the procedure – cesarean session was his wife’s third surgery in four years, raising concerns among viewers about the physical and emotional toll for his family.
“So my wife is in the theatre already… I beg you God, please. I wish my wife a safe delivery. I wish she comes out well. There should be no complications,” he said with a voice shaken.
Despite the emotional tone of the video, critics argue otherwise, that cute Abiola crossed boundaries and what might be private shouldn’t be publicized. Using an intimate moment to chase clout is clearly uncalled for all in the name of content.
“Maybe their next pregnancy journey, they’ll start filming from when they’re having sex in their bedroom” Usmanashafe, An X user, tweeted.
Yetty queens wrote: “What was cute Abiola thinking? What sort of stupid content is that??”
“This cute Abiola video doesn’t make sense at all, the fact this guy went to military training oo, maybe celebrity life is declining his sense” Another user wrote.
However, amid all the criticisms, Cute Abiola has defended his decision.
Taking to X, he stated that he has no regrets about sharing the experience with an emphasis that openness can inspire others.
“Life is not always perfect, but sometimes sharing our struggles gives hope to others” he wrote.
