Mohbad’s Father Weighs In on Toluwanisings’ Family, Burial Dispute

Joseph Aloba, father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has commented on the family dispute surrounding deceased gospel musician Toluwanisings and his widow, Elizabeth Olayemi.

Aloba shared his views in a video circulating on social media, where he appealed to the public to consider the sacrifices parents make for their children before judging disagreements between bereaved families.

Drawing from his experience following Mohbad’s death, he argued that parents deserve to enjoy the benefits of their sacrifices after raising their children.

He also compared the living conditions of Toluwanisings’ parents with those of his wife’s family, claiming that the late musician’s father lives in a room with an annual rent of ₦35,000, while his mother-in-law enjoys the comfort of an air-conditioned house.

Aloba further alleged that Toluwanisings’ wife influenced the late singer against his biological family, a situation he believes contributed to the tensions surrounding the family.

His comments have drawn attention because of the similarities people have identified between the dispute and the controversies that followed Mohbad’s death, particularly disagreements involving his immediate family, wife and burial arrangements.

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died in September 2023 at the age of 27. His death triggered public outrage, investigations and prolonged disagreements over his burial and family matters.

Aloba, however, cautioned against judging family disputes solely from information circulating online, noting that such disagreements often involve circumstances the public may not fully understand.
