Phrank Shaibu, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has offered ₦5 million to any Nigerian who can prove they named a child after President Bola Tinubu since he assumed office in 2023.
Shaibu announced the cash reward on Monday, October 26, 2026, during a live appearance on RBN’s The Morning Edition.
He challenged Nigerians to produce evidence of children born and named Tinubu between May 29, 2023, when the President took office, and the present.
According to him, a leader who enjoys genuine public admiration should inspire citizens to honour him by naming their children after him.
“Any Nigerian who has named his child Tinubu should come out. I will get five million naira from me,” Shaibu said.
He further insisted that interested parents must provide birth certificates to establish that their children were born and given the name within the specified period.
“It is impossible. Tell your social media team to put out the challenge. Anybody who can produce a birth certificate proving that since Tinubu came to power between May 29, 2023, till date, he or she gave birth to a child and named the child Tinubu, I will give the person five million naira,” he added.
Shaibu’s remarks appeared to question the level of public support for Tinubu’s administration, using the naming of children as a measure of the President’s popularity.
However, the challenge has since attracted attention on social media, where the statement circulated across several platforms.
