A Nigerian man of God has alleged that men asking women for money represents a sign of failure in their lives.
Per the video circulating online, the pastor opined that the only thing women should be giving to men is respect. He added that a woman only has to respect and be truthful to their male partners.
Any man who takes money from a woman or asks, ‘What have you contributed to my life?’ is showing a sign of fåilure. A woman has nothing to contribute to a man except respect.
He furthered that this sign of failure could be traced to the man’s upbringing by his parents.
The pastor quoting the Bible, noted that a man who cannot take care of his wife is worse than an unbeliever.
Meanwhile, the statement has already drawn backlash with critics describing it as contentious.
One X user, Vickel said;
I laugh at some preachers. Some of these things are no more obtainable now. Some women are breadwinners in their respective homes. In western countries, most women sustain homes and still respect their husbands.
Chidinma added that;
Some women don’t have a problem giving financial help to their husband, but will he take a 50% responsibility of the household chores? Or he expects his woman to do 100% of the household chores, and still contribute, financially again? God forbid.
