NDLEA Busts Lagos Mansion, Seizes Hard Drugs Worth N5.8 Billion

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered and raided a mansion in Lekki, Lagos, allegedly used as a stash house for illegal drug operations.

According to a statement released by the agency, NDLEA operatives carried out the raid on May 8, 2026, leading to the seizure of 4,000 parcels of Loud, a potent strain of imported cannabis reportedly weighing 2,326 kilograms. The confiscated substances were estimated to have a street value of Five Billion, Eight Hundred and Fifteen Million Naira (N5,815,000,000). An operative that makes it one of the significant drug busts recorded in recent times.

In addition to the seized cannabis, operatives also recovered other illicit substances and specially designed sachets in another mansion. Stating that the sachets were allegedly used for repackaging and retail distribution of the drugs. Also the agency further disclosed that two Mercedes-Benz buses, believed to belong to the suspects, were also impounded during the operation.

The latest raid comes amid growing concerns over rising drug abuse and trafficking across the country. Reaffirming its commitment to tackling the menace, the NDLEA emphasized its ongoing War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign, aimed at reducing substance abuse through enforcement and public sensitization.
The agency noted that its awareness efforts continue across schools, places of worship, workplaces, and local communities as part of a broader strategy to curb drug related crimes and protect public health.

However, the identities of the suspects connected to the property have not yet been disclosed, as investigations are reportedly ongoing.
