Omoyele Sowore, the 2027 Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) has vowed to regulate rent payment in Nigeria if elected as President.
He disclosed in a May 28 post on X that rent regulation will be part of his Day-One tasks if elected as President.
He stated that house owners will not be allowed to demand more than 3 months’ rent at a time.
“NO landlord or landlady shall have the freedom to demand more than 3 months’ rent at a time. On my very 1st day in office, I will sign an Executive Order ending the exploitation of tenants across Nigeria,” he remarked.
In another post, he vowed to end the pattern of extortion attributed to service providers like MTN.
The AAC Presidential hopeful also promised to pay N500,000 as minimum wage to Nigerian workers if elected as President.
“Police officers, soldiers, teachers, doctors, nurses, and other public servants deserve a living wage and those in critical sectors must earn additional allowances for the risks, sacrifices, and essential services they provide,” he stressed.
The Activist emerged as AAC’s Presidential candidate earlier this week. His participation in the 2027 election would make it his third outing as a presidential candidate in Nigeria.
