Veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has reportedly died after battling cancer.
The development was reported on Sunday, August 23, 2026, with information about the actor’s reported death circulating across social media and entertainment circles.
Another actor, Femi Brainard, also appeared to confirm the development in a post on his Facebook page, where he mourned Hassan and recalled the advice the veteran actor had given him over the years.
“I’m not one to cry or be moody over death. We all owe 6ft. But this hit me really hard,” Brainard wrote.
He continued: “Bros T, you always advised me anytime our paths crossed and always always told me never ever to be anxious for anything but be prayerful and try to be watchful cos life is more spiritual than anyone can imagine. This is sad.”
“REST WELL MY BROTHER AND THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR ADVICE,” he added.
However, the family of the veteran actor is yet to officially confirm his reported death as of the time of filing this report.
Concerns about Hassan’s health became public earlier after his daughter released a video indicating that the actor was battling stage-four cancer and appealing for assistance towards his treatment.
The development had generated concern among colleagues, fans and well-wishers, who rallied support for the veteran actor during his health struggle.
Hassan, an indigene of Ilaro, Ogun State, is one of the veteran faces of the Nigerian film industry, particularly known for his contributions to Yoruba-language cinema.
His reported passing, if confirmed by his family, would mark another major loss to the Nigerian entertainment industry, with tributes expected from colleagues, fans and other stakeholders.
