The government of Canada has announced fresh opportunities for skilled professionals from around the world seeking to work and build a future in the country.
The development was highlighted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on its official website as Canada continues to seek international talent to address labour shortages and strengthen its workforce.
According to the Canadian government, the country is looking for skilled professionals in several key and emerging sectors, including science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), healthcare, skilled trades, defence and cybersecurity, critical minerals and education.

“Canada is looking for skilled health care and social service professionals, nurse practitioners, dentists, pharmacists, psychologists and social workers, to fill shortages in our health care system and provide essential services to Canadians,” the government said.
Canada also highlighted several benefits available to international talent, including career opportunities with employers across the country, safe and stable communities, access to education and training, and settlement services designed to assist newcomers.
The government said its communities also offer dedicated services for French-speaking newcomers, particularly those settling outside Quebec.
Applicants to search for available jobs
For professionals interested in relocating, the Canadian government encouraged applicants to begin by searching for available jobs with employers actively recruiting international workers.
It also provides an immigration programme search tool designed to help prospective immigrants identify programmes that may match their qualifications and circumstances.
Another key requirement highlighted by the government is foreign credential recognition.
Professionals are advised to determine whether their occupation is regulated in the Canadian province or territory where they intend to work and find out how their education, professional qualifications and work experience can be recognised.
The government said this process is important for professionals who want to begin working in their chosen occupations after arriving in Canada.
Canada also provides settlement support for newcomers, with services intended to help immigrants adjust to everyday life and integrate into their new communities.
For French-speaking applicants, the government has also highlighted dedicated immigration services designed to support Francophone newcomers who settle outside Quebec.
