The Ekiti State Government has awarded a ₦578.6 million contract to Doylit Nigeria Resources Limited, a company linked to Arojo Taiwo Adebimpe, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The contract, valued at ₦578,595,238, is for the construction of an e-office and conference hall for the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) in Ado-Ekiti.
The procurement record shows that the government awarded the contract on August 17, 2026, with the BPP listed as the procuring entity and Ado-Ekiti as the project location.
Adebimpe, who serves as the governor’s Senior Special Assistant at the Akure Liaison Office, reportedly appears as a director of Doylit Nigeria Resources Limited in the Corporate Affairs Commission’s beneficial ownership records.
Doylit incorporated in August 2022, more than a year before Governor Oyebanji appointed Adebimpe as his aide in December 2023.
Meanwhile, the available procurement records indicate that the company secured its first recorded government contract about two months after Adebimpe assumed office. The ₦15 million contract covered the clearing of 10 hectares of land at the Ijesa Isu Agric Development. On December 18, 2025, also, the Ekiti Government also awarded Doylit a ₦443.4 million contract for the construction of the BPP e-office and conference hall.
Apparently, the latest ₦578.6 million award carries the same project description as the 2025 contract. However, available records do not clarify whether the latest award represents a continuation, variation, re-award or a separate procurement process.
The development has raised questions about possible conflict of interest safeguards, beneficial ownership disclosure and transparency in the state’s procurement process.
However, the latest award brings the value of contracts linked to the company to more than ₦1 billion if both BPP contracts and the earlier ₦15 million land clearing contract are counted.
Notably, attempts to obtain comments from the Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, reportedly yielded no response as of the time of filing the report.
