The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has expanded its leadership structure with the creation of a third Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) office in a move aimed at improving institutional governance, operational efficiency and academic innovation.
The decision followed the approval of the university’s Senate, which endorsed the establishment of the office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management and Operations, alongside the restructuring of the two existing deputy vice-chancellor portfolios to better reflect the institution’s strategic priorities.
Under the new arrangement, LAUTECH will now operate three Deputy Vice-Chancellor offices: Academic and Innovation; Management and Operations; and Development and Partnerships.
The Registrar, Mrs. Olayinka Balogun, said the restructuring was designed to align with LAUTECH’s vision of advancing excellence in teaching, research, innovation and global engagement.
According to her, the expanded leadership framework will provide dedicated oversight in key areas of the university’s operations while positioning the institution to respond more effectively to the changing demands of higher education.
“The new roles will provide focused leadership in critical areas, ensuring that the university remains competitive and responsive to the demands of modern higher education,” Balogun said.

She added that the initiative demonstrates LAUTECH’s commitment to building a governance structure capable of driving innovation, improving operational effectiveness and strengthening sustainable partnerships.
Meanwhile, the university’s Governing Council, at its meeting held on August 3, approved the appointment of three professors to head the newly structured offices.
Professor Dahud O. Araromi was elected Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Innovation, while Professor Adepoju T. Ogunkunle emerged as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management and Operations. Professor Lukman A. Sunmonu was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development and Partnerships.
The appointments are expected to reinforce the university’s leadership capacity as it pursues reforms aimed at enhancing academic excellence, administrative efficiency and strategic collaborations.
