The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a special passport intervention exercise for Nigerians in the United Kingdom, with officials scheduled to visit four cities between September 7 and 26, 2026.
The exercise, directed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is aimed at helping Nigerians seeking new passports, renewals and assistance with pending applications.
London, Manchester First
According to the NIS, the intervention team from its headquarters in Abuja will work with the Nigerian High Commission.
The exercise will begin in London and Manchester from September 7 to 19, before moving to Aberdeen and Cardiff from September 21 to 26.
In London, applicants will be attended to at Layali Lounge, Trent Park, Bramley Road, while the Manchester exercise will hold at Nigerian House, 23 Platt Lane.
The team will subsequently move to Hilton Convention Centre in Aberdeen and Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
Documents Required
The NIS urged eligible Nigerians in the four cities and surrounding areas to take advantage of the intervention.
Applicants are expected to come with a completed application form, payment slip, appointment slip and a self-addressed return envelope.
Those renewing their passports must also present their current passports.

The Service stressed that applicants who arrive with cash will not be attended to, as applications and payments must be completed through the official NIS passport application portal.
Digital Services Remain Available
The NIS clarified that the special intervention does not replace its existing digital passport services.
Its digital application platforms, including the contactless passport application system, remain operational, while applicants can also access home delivery services.
The intervention is therefore intended to provide additional support to Nigerians in the UK facing delays or difficulties with passport-related services.
