Oyo Bursary: Final-Year Students Facing Registration Challenges Can Use These Documents

Eligible final-year students of Oyo State origin who are experiencing difficulties registering for the 2025/2026 General Bursary Awards can prepare alternative supporting documents required for the application process.

The Oyo State Government opened its bursary portal on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, for eligible students in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

The registration exercise will close on Monday, November 2, 2026, giving applicants until the deadline to complete their applications and submit the required documents.

According to the published application guidelines, the alternative documents are the duly signed and stamped Part Three second-semester course form and a letter from the applicant’s Head of Department (HOD) confirming their status as a final-year student. These documents can serve as alternatives for affected students facing challenges with the regular registration requirements.

Other requirements include, admission letter, a Local Government Identification, valid commercial bank account details belonging to the applicant, a recent passport photograph and proof of membership in the Federation of Oyo State Student Union (FOSSU).

Students who have not registered with FOSSU can complete their membership registration through the union’s official website at https://www.fossu.com.ng/register.

The bursary scheme targets indigenes of Oyo State in their final year at public universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.

However, students attending private institutions and those enrolled in part-time programmes are not eligible for the award. Eligible applicants are advised to ensure that their documents meet the stated requirements and that they complete the online registration before the November 2 deadline.

The bursary programme provides financial support to qualifying students from Oyo State as they pursue their education in public tertiary institutions.
