Nigerians shocked as lecturer apologizes for poor network connection during online class

Nigerians have expressed mixed reactions to a University lecturer’s recent apology to his students over poor network connection during an online class.

According to X user @OnlyOneSalam, a student accused a lecturer of not “knowing how to teach” during an online class.

In response, the lecturer apologized to the students, acknowledgeding their pains and attributing the issues to poor network connection.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have expressed mixed reactions over the lecturer’s apology. While some applauded the lecturer’s action, others expressed shock at the apology.

They argued that the lecturer displayed emotional intelligence which they believe is uncommon among Nigerian lecturers.

One X user @BuggHive said;

They’re shocked because their lecturer treated them like human beings.

We have a serious cultural problem.

Another user @etherealdiadi added that;

Normally what we’d expect is “What is your Matric number”, or some kind of educational maltreatment.

As much as we’d expect student to be mindful and careful with words, I applaud this lecturer because honestly with what has been so far, it’s uncommon.
