Popular Nigerian interior designer Ehi Ogbebor has opened up about her two failed marriages, alleged domestic abuse and her relationship with Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.
Ogbebor spoke during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, where she addressed controversies surrounding her personal life and relationships with married men.
The interior designer confirmed that she dated MC Oluomo, whom she described as one of her closest friends, while acknowledging that he was married at the time.
She, however, explained that his Muslim faith allowed for multiple wives, presenting it as part of the context of their relationship.
Ogbebor also recounted the severe domestic violence she allegedly experienced during one of her marriages.
According to her, she married a man she barely knew, but the relationship quickly became troubled.
She recalled one incident when the alleged abuse became so severe that she lost consciousness.
“There was a day he beat me so bad I passed out. I woke up, he was pouring olive oil in my mouth.”
She further alleged that the abuse continued during her pregnancy, claiming that her husband once pushed her and she fell on her stomach.
Ogbebor also spoke about what she described as financial control during the marriage, saying she was sometimes given barely enough money to purchase basic household items.
She also addressed allegations that she uses juju to attract or “snatch” men.
The designer dismissed the claims, saying she found them particularly surprising given that she had previously left a marriage partly because of her own fears surrounding juju.
She challenged anyone with evidence of the allegation to come forward, questioning the claims that she had deliberately taken another woman’s husband.
Despite the controversies surrounding her relationships, Ogbebor said she remains largely unconcerned about public opinion.
She maintained that she earns her own money and pursues what makes her happy, describing the criticisms and rumours surrounding her personal life as “background sound.”
