Afrobeats singer Ruger has sparked reactions online after disagreeing with rapper Odumodublvck’s claim that a man who cannot die for the woman he loves is a fool.
The debate began after Odumodublvck appeared on the In Motion Podcast, where he discussed his views on love, marriage, loyalty and sacrifice.
During the interview, the rapper declared that “any man who says he can’t die for his woman is a fool,” arguing that a man should be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for his partner.
Odumodublvck, who referenced his Christian faith while explaining his position, compared such sacrifice to Jesus Christ laying down His life for the church. He also said he expects to die before his wife and wants her to inherit everything he has so she can provide for their children.
His comments subsequently went viral on social media, prompting discussions about the extent to which love should require personal sacrifice.
Reacting to the viral clip, Ruger openly rejected the rapper’s position, making it clear that he would not be willing to die for a woman.
“OD me I no fit die for woman oooo,” Ruger wrote, responding to Odumodublvck’s statement.
The singer’s reaction quickly attracted attention from social media users, with fans weighing in on the contrasting views of the two entertainers.
While some users supported Odumodublvck’s perspective, describing it as a reflection of deep love, loyalty and traditional chivalry, others agreed with Ruger that no romantic relationship should require a person to give up their life.
The exchange has since generated a broader conversation online about love, sacrifice, commitment and whether dying for a romantic partner should be regarded as the ultimate expression of love.
