Mr. Ayengbe Ebhohimen JB, the author of the controversial “ENGLISH LANGUAGE FOUNDATION FOR NURSERY SCHOOLS” textbook has defended his works, arguing that there’s nothing wrong with the book.
Mr. Ayengbe disclosed in a video circulating on X that there’s nothing wrong with the trending and controversial story in his book.
Per the video, Mr. Ayengbe said
“I’m not a social media type. The lady didn’t buy the book on social media, my number and address are on the book, she couldn’t get to me through any of those means, but she chose to go to social media to discredit my work and my book. She’s too small for me to explain to, she was not born when I started teaching, however, there’s nothing wrong with my book story.”
The author’s statement follows concerns raised by a parent over one of the stories in the Nursery School English textbook.

A few weeks after Mrs Mary Queen Udoka raised concerns over the book, she revealed that the Police had been reaching out and threatening her family and loved ones. She added that the threats caused her to go into hiding.
Amid these controversies, the Lagos State Government has declared the book as unauthorized for public or private school usage. As such, they revealed plans to investigate and take appropriate actions.
Meanwhile, Barrister Inibehe Effiong, counsel to Mrs. Udoka revealed that he and his client have already reported to the police to understand their involvement in the matter. He added that they have petitioned the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).
