Fruits of discord have begun emerging within the Oyo State Chapter of the Accord Party following the latest emergence of two candidates for the Oyo State 2027 Gubernatorial election.
Reports circulating online revealed that two aspirants, Hon. Busari Olakunle Moruf, popularly known as “Gudugudu,” and media entrepreneur Oriyomi Hamzat, are both claiming victory in the party’s recently concluded governorship primary election ahead of the 2027 election.
In one video, party officials announced that Busari polled 29,427 votes to emerge as the party’s flagbearer. This put him ahead of Oriyomi Hamzat who secured 18,716 votes, and Fatai Owoseni who polled 11,922 votes.
However, another video shows that Oriyomi was declared winner in a separate venue and presented with a certificate of return.
The development has since sparked discord within the party, raising concerns over possible factional divisions.
Allegedly, some party executives accused Oriyomi of sponsoring thugs to disrupt the party’s assembly primaries, while other members dismissed the allegation.
