Controversial entertainer and TikTok personality Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has reportedly been arrested.
The arrest followed a viral video in which he made threatening remarks about Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu.
Punch reported that the arrest was made known by his lawyer, Rotimi Stephen, narrating that DJ Chicken was arrested in Ikeja, Lagos, and taken to the Ikeja Police Headquarters.
The lawyer alleged that the arrest was linked to the controversial video and claimed that officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) might also be involved, although this has not been officially confirmed.
In an emotional appeal, Stephen urged fans and individuals with access to the Presidency to intervene, describing DJ Chicken as someone he had been trying to rehabilitate. He pleaded for forgiveness, saying the entertainer was being “managed” and asking the government to temper justice with mercy.
The video that reportedly triggered the arrest showed DJ Chicken making a threat against Seyi Tinubu if President Tinubu were to win another election. The clip quickly went viral, drawing widespread criticism and calls for law enforcement to investigate the remarks.
However, as of the time of reporting, the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services have not issued any official statement confirming the arrest or the specific reason for his detention.
