Kidnapped Oyo School Principal Denies Claims Linking Abductors to ₦1 billion naira Ransom, Sharia Law Request

The abducted Principal of Community High school, Oyo state, Rachel Alamu has surfaced in a new viral video on Monday dismissing claims associating their abductors with ₦1bn ransom, sharia law conditions demands.

Speaking from captivity, the Principal said the kidnappers’ actual demand differs significantly from claims circulating across media platforms.

According to her, the abductors are only seeking the release of some individuals and have not requested money, weapons, or the enforcement of Sharia law.

She said:

“Nigerians, they are not asking for shariah law, they’re not asking for ₦1 billion naira, they’re not asking for weapons. All they want is the release of some people.”

In the video, the school principal appealed to government authorities to engage the abductors in dialogue and work towards a resolution that would secure the freedom of all the abductees. She further accused authorities of withholding the kidnappers’ actual demands, expressing concern that politics was being allowed to interfere with efforts to save their lives.

She added:

“And the government will negotiate with them and know those that they will release for them. I don’t know why they are playing politics with our lives.”

The video has sparked fresh debate over the circumstances surrounding the abduction and the true nature of the kidnappers’ demands. Although the security agencies efforts intensify to secure the release of the victims.
