A man identified as Rotimi has reportedly died after he was allegedly attacked with a broken bottle during the celebration of the Ogun Festival in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The incident reportedly occurred around 2pm on Tuesday beneath the bridge along Ijigbo Street, where the festival activities were taking place.
Minor Disagreement Turns Violent
According to eyewitnesses and security reports, Rotimi was allegedly attacked by a man popularly known as “Vulganiser”, whose real identity had not been established as of the time of filing the report.
Sources said the incident followed a minor disagreement between the two men.
They were also reportedly under the influence of alcohol when the confrontation occurred.
The suspect allegedly picked up a broken bottle and attacked Rotimi, leaving him with serious injuries.
Victim Dies From Injuries
Rotimi reportedly succumbed to the injuries he sustained during the attack.

His remains were subsequently deposited at the mortuary of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital for preservation.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene shortly after the incident and remained at large as security agencies began efforts to identify and apprehend him.
Security Agencies Launch Manhunt
Security personnel were deployed to the area to maintain peace and gather information that could assist the investigation.
The situation was reportedly brought under control, with no reprisal attack or further disturbance recorded in the area.
Security agencies have since intensified surveillance around the community while efforts continue to track down the fleeing suspect.
Police Yet To Confirm Incident
As of the time of filing the report, the Ekiti State Police Command had not officially commented on the incident.
Efforts to reach the command for confirmation and further details were reportedly unsuccessful.
The circumstances surrounding the death remain subject to investigation, while the identity and whereabouts of the alleged attacker are yet to be established officially.
