The Mountain Top Chorale of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has returned to Nigeria after emerging as the overall champion at the 14th World Choir Games held in Helsingborg, Sweden.
General overseer of MFM, Dr. Daniel Olukoya announced the achievement via his social media congratulating the chorale on its outstanding performance at the international competition.
Olukoya commended the choristers, conductor, leadership and other individuals whose sacrifices, dedication and commitment contributed to the victory, describing the achievement as a testament to discipline, excellence, teamwork and unwavering dedication.
He said the feat had brought honour and pride to Nigeria and the MFM family, while praising the chorale for proudly representing the country and raising Nigeria’s flag on the global stage through its outstanding performance.
According to him, the choir won the Gold Medal in the Spiritual Category, scoring 87.38 points, before going on to claim the overall championship at the 2026 World Choir Games conducted by Oluwasegun Okedunmola,Â
However, the victory has drawn praise from members of the MFM community and Nigerians, with the achievement highlighting the country’s representation and success on an international musical platform.
The 2026 World Choir Games, regarded as the world’s largest international choral competition, held from August 6 to 16 in Helsingborg, Sweden. The event brought together more than 160 choirs and 8,500 participants from over 40 countries, with experienced choirs competing in the Champions Competition, the highest level of the international choral contest.
Also, the Mountain Top Chorale’s success in Sweden adds another notable achievement to Nigeria’s growing presence in international choral music.
