The Nigerian National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and Microsoft have launched the RegTech Hackathon for AI Solutions’ Developers to win up to $1,000.
The hackathon, announced on April 14, challenges teams to build AI-powered solutions for Nigeria’s regulatory future and compliance.
Per the announcement, solutions are expected to leverage emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, blockchain, and API integrations. They are expected to deliver smarter, faster, and more inclusive compliance systems.
According to the organizers;
The hackathon provides a structured pathway for participants to design and prototype tools that enhance compliance monitoring, simplify reporting processes, and improve regulatory intelligence.
While the application will close on April 16, selection and onboarding will take place on April 17.
The selected teams will undergo mentorship and training in Abuja from 20th to 21st April, 2026. After this, they will make a final presentation at the AI Skills week summit on April 22nd where the winner will be announced.
Notably, interested applicants are expected to have a viable idea, working prototype, or deployed solutions.
