Police Arrest 20-Year-Old Son Over Alleged Robbery of Mother, Siblings in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, Aminu Adamu, for allegedly conspiring with two others to rob his mother and siblings in Yola.

The incident occurred around midnight on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the family’s residence in Wuro Kuturu, Jimeta.

According to the police, Adamu allegedly conspired with Adamu Mamman, 22, and Nuhu Umar, 22, and armed themselves with dangerous weapons before gaining entry into the family residence.

The suspects allegedly robbed Adamu’s mother and siblings of ₦200,000, two mobile phones and a power bank before fleeing the residence. The three suspects, all residents of Wuro Kuturu, Nassarawo, in Yola North Local Government Area, were arrested by operatives attached to the Karewa Area Command on Thursday, September 17.

Following a report by the victim, operatives attached to the Karewa Area Command arrested the three suspects on Thursday, September 17.

The police said items recovered from the suspects included a knife, pliers, scissors, various suspected hard drugs and a quantity of suspected Indian hemp.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, said the suspects confessed to their involvement in the alleged crime during interrogation.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, ordered a thorough investigation into the case. He also directed that the suspects be diligently prosecuted upon completion of the investigation.
