A 15-year-old boy, identified as Taiye Majekodunmi, has reportedly been arrested in Lagos after he was allegedly found with a gun concealed inside a loaf of bread.

The teenager was reportedly intercepted while allegedly on his way to deliver the bread to Oshodi, following instructions from a friend identified as Samuel.

In a video of his interrogation circulating online, Taiye said he lived around Mushin Market and confirmed that the item found inside the bread was a gun.

When asked who gave it to him, the teenager reportedly replied, “Samuel gave it to me.”

‘Samuel Is My Friend’

According to Taiye, Samuel is his friend, although he said they had not known each other for a long time.

He also claimed that he did not know what Samuel did for a living.

“I just see him every day,” he said.

The teenager explained that Samuel approached him after he returned from school and asked him to take the bread to Oshodi.

He said Samuel told him that someone would meet him at Terminal 1 to collect the package.

“Now today he saw me when I got back from school and asked me to help him take something to Oshodi and that someone would come and meet me at Terminal 1 to collect the bread from me, sir,” he said.

‘He’s My Friend, Not My Brother’

When asked whether Samuel was his brother, Taiye responded, “No, he’s my friend.”

He also confirmed that he was 15 years old when asked about his age.

The circumstances surrounding how the firearm came into Samuel’s possession and who was expected to receive it at Oshodi remain unclear.

The identity and whereabouts of the alleged Samuel were also not immediately known.

Investigation Expected

The incident has raised concerns over the alleged use of minors to transport firearms, particularly through busy commercial and transport areas.

However, the teenager’s account in the video has not independently established whether he knew that a firearm was concealed inside the bread or the extent of his involvement.

Further investigation would be required to establish the source of the gun, identify the alleged recipient and determine the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s alleged involvement.
