A UK-based Nigerian woman has expressed mixed feelings over a decline in divorce cases in the diaspora community following new immigration rules.
According to her, married Nigerian women in the UK no longer come online to complain about their partners. She explained that this is likely due to an immigration law that triggers the deportation of couples seeking divorces.
She quizzed that maybe more people are now happy in their marriages or they are afraid of being deported.
Interestingly, her statement highlights a major scheme allegedly used by women to punish their husbands. Social media reports alleged that most women often change their attitude once they leave Nigeria over assurances of possible government protections.
