A Nigerian graduate identified as Sophia Abajue on X has sparked reactions online after publicly sharing her difficulties in obtaining her statement of result and certificate.
Causing her inability to participate in the NYSC scheme due to a JAMB regularization issue.
The emotionally distraught lady, in a viral video, explained how she graduated with good grades from Delta State University in 2022, yet she has still not been issued her result or certificate.
She captioned:
“Four years after graduating from Delta State University, Abraka, DELSU is still tossing me left and right. I do not have my statement of result or certificate, and I haven’t gone for NYSC. I can’t be quiet anymore. Please help me.”
In response to the viral clip, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) expressed concern, stating that investigations revealed no official record of her admission with the agency.
JAMB further advised Sophia Abajue to reach out to her institution and demand full disclosure regarding the alleged illegal admission, after which the board would play its part in facilitating her regularization process.
The situation has raised further concerns online, with many netizens criticizing JAMB’s professionalism and calling for greater accountability.
Some internet users reacted:
“Your response was unprofessional. No institution or business responds to people in this manner. That’s the reason conversations with call centers are always recorded for quality assurance to keep bad-mannered people like you in check or out of the way. You’re unprofessional and shouldn’t be allowed to continue interfacing with the public. No AI can give such a disrespectful reply. The shame is on you. Get out of that place you’re in the wrong profession.”
Another user added:
“The excruciating pain some of us are going through is unbearable because we haven’t been able to access our @JAMBHQ results due to the loss of our phone numbers. Please help us with an alternative so we can check our results or activate the portal.”
However other users shared similar experiences claimed to have encountered with JAMB.
A user wrote:
“I registered for this year direct entry but i didn’t get any email that my registration was successfully and also my jamb portal has been updated it is still showing 2025 instead of 2026. What can cause it???”
