PFN protests Nigeria’s insecurity, demands immediate government intervention

The Lagos chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowships of Nigeria (PFN) has protested the rising kidnapping, killing and overall insecurity in Nigeria, asking the government to take immediate actions.

The PFN protest, held on Sunday 24th, May 2026 followed a three-day national fasting and prayer program.

PFN Lagos Chairman, Pastor Yemi Davids stated that Nigeria has lost its sense of value for human life and its sanctity.

“The level of banditry, violence, insecurity, and savage killings all across the Nigerian landscape has risen to an intolerable level,” he added.

As such, they urged Nigerians to cry to God for divine intervention and to the Government for immediate and effective action.

The PFN furthered that several kidnapped victims including the Chibok girls still remain in captivity. They also mentioned the mob killings of Christians like Deborah Samuel who was killed for alleged blasphemy.

Consequently, the Christian group demanded the government’s intervention to restore value for human life and end widespread terror.

The PFN Protest coincides with increasing calls for religious leaders to speak against the country’s insecurity.
