Sowore accuses Makinde, Seyi Tinubu of mobilizing NANS to disrupt Ibadan protest

AAC Presidential candidate for the 2027 Presidential Election, Omoyele Sowore has pointed fingers at people who he claimed mobilized members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to disrupt Ibadan protest.

Sowore alleged that the Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the President’s son Seyi Tinubu mobilized NANS elements to attack his Take-It-Back Movement activists. He stated that NANS elements turned against activists demanding an end to insecurity and safe return of kidnapped school children.

He revealed that this action eventually caused disruptions in the Ibadan Protest which marked its second day today.

According to him;

This is exactly how movements grow. The #EndSARS protests gained momentum because Nigerian authorities under [President Buhari] responded to legitimate grievances with hostility instead of addressing the issues being raised.

Sowore stressed that the priority should be reaching kidnapped children, securing schools, and protecting lives. He added that they should not be targeting citizens exercising their democratic rights.
