Abuja Pastor visits 14-year-old rape victim’s family to seek forgiveness

A popular Abuja Pastor Amos Isah accused of raping a 14-year-old has reportedly visited the victim’s family to seek forgiveness.

A video circulating on social media shows Pastor Amos Isah reportedly asking the victim’s family to forgive him, after escalating the issue.

The visitation follows an FCT High Court’s decision to grant the popular Pastor a fresh bail of N50 million. The terms and conditions of the bail surpasses the previous one as it required responsible heads of religious organizations. The condition specified that the sureties must be heads of Pentecostal churches whose addresses will be verified.

Notably, the Pastor is facing eight counts of child rape and related offences, including abduction, sexual exploitation, and abuse of a 14-year-old member of his church.

Police arrested Pastor Amos Isah in June 2025 on four charges of rape and arraigned him on July 22, 2025. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, then the case went dormant.

However, earlier this year the prosecution lawyer applied to reassign the case to another court where the matter is now being heard. The pastor was arraigned on May 14 where he again pleaded not guilty but was remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre.

Following his bail, the case is now adjourned till June 30, 2026.

According to Premium Times, the victim was raped on May 26, 2025 after honoring an invite to the Pastor’s office. While she initially kept mum, she later recounted the experience to her friend who encouraged her to tell her parents. The parents subsequently reported to the Police, leading to the Pastor’s arrest.
