The Lagos Magistrate Court has reportedly granted Nigerian TikTok personality, Hamzat Habeeb, Peller bail in the sum of ₦500,000 following his arraignment over an incident involving police officers and a vehicle without a number plate.
The controversy stemmed from a viral video showing Peller in a confrontation with police officers after he was reportedly stopped while travelling in a vehicle without a registered number plate.
According to the daily post, Peller alongside with his associates, Bello Oladipo was brought before the court after spending four days in detention. The duo were arraigned on allegations of obstructing four police officers while they were carrying out their lawful duties. They were also accused of threatening the officers and recording them during the incident.
The charge sheet reads in part:
“That you Bello Oladipo “m” and Habeeb Hamzat “m” of Number 16, Platinum Road, Lekki Phase 2, on the 2nd day of July 2026 at about 2000hrs at Coastal Road Lekki, Lagos within the Magisterial district of this Honourable Court did obstruct one ASP Agbede Victor and three other police officers while engaged in the discharge of their constituted duties and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable by Section 117 (1) (2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
At the hearing, the court admitted both to bail in the sum of ₦500,000, with conditions of providing two sureties. One of the sureties must be a blood relative.
However, The case was subsequently adjourned to August 11, 2026 for further proceedings.
