EFCC arraigns Blessing CEO over alleged N36 million fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned social media influencer Okoro Blessing Nkiruka popularly known as Blessing CEO over an alleged N36 million fraud.

The EFCC disclosed that Blessing CEO was arraigned on May 15, 2026 before Justice D.I. Dipeolu of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on a two-count charge.

The social media influencer and self-styled relationship expert is facing a two-count charge. This includes obtaining money by false pretense and stealing to the tune of N36 million.

Blessing CEOโ€™s counsel revealed during the proceeding that she had refunded part of the money to the petitioner. The counsel noted that they had refunded N24 million out of the N36 million.

โ€œWe are asking for a short adjournment to resolve the outstanding balance. The nominal complainant agreed that if the balance is paid, they can prevail on the EFCC to drop the case,โ€ he said.

In response, the prosecution counsel stated that they were not aware of any discussion between the defendant and complainant. They added that the complainant in this case is the Federal Government. Hence, they urged the defendant to take her plea.

Notably, one of the counts alleged that Blessing CEO obtained N36 million from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye. The payment was supposedly aimed at leasing a six-bedroom detached duplex in Lekki, Lagos.

However, the social media relationship expert converted the payment to her own use, thereby committing an offence.

Meanwhile, the defendant pleaded โ€œnot guiltyโ€ to the charges.

Following this, the matter was adjourned till June 5, 2026 for the commencement of trial. The social media influencer will be remanded in EFCC custody pending the perfection of her bail conditions.
