“I paid the price for my daughter to have a successful marriage and good marital life” ___ Iyabo Ojo narrates

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has recounted her decision of given her ex-husband a prominent role during the wedding of their daughter, Priscilla Ojo, to Juma Jux.

Speaking in an interview at The Morayo Show with Morayo Afolabi-Brown, Iyabo said the decision was intentional and aimed at breaking a generational cycle of broken homes within her family.

She said:

“There is something called ancestral curse, everybody believes it. And I believe that if you don’t want something to continue you will have to be able to break it. So I made up my mind that whatever situation that had happened because my dad and my mum also were not together. And every mistake they have made, that I’ve made, My children will not make it.”

According to the actress, she chose to put aside past differences with her former husband to ensure both parents played active roles in their daughter’s wedding, creating a peaceful foundation for the couple’s marriage.

Iyabo explained that her own parents separated while she was growing up and that she also experienced a failed marriage. Determined not to see the pattern repeated in her children’s lives, she said she prioritized unity and cooperation during the wedding celebrations.

She added that setting aside personal grievances was her way of giving her daughter and son-in-law the best possible start to their married life, stressing the importance of family support and harmony.
