ICYMI: Bimbo Ademoye clashes with Thugs over movie set disruption

Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has sparked reactions online after a video surfaced showing her angrily confronting individuals who allegedly disrupted her movie set.

In the circulating 40-second clip, the actress expressed frustration over what she described as growing entitlement among street thugs. She stated that while she often gives them money as a gesture of goodwill, they have no right to demand a fixed amount.

Ademoye emphasized on her background, noting that she understands street life but does not tolerate unreasonable demands.

“I’m from the street, and when it comes to the street, I like settling the boys,” she said.

She went further to clarify that any money given is purely out of generosity, not obligation.

“I work for my money myself, and your dime is not there. If I give you money, it is an act of benevolence because practically, you people are beggars,” she added.

The incident has triggered widespread reactions online, with many  users highlighting disruption occurrences dominating certain areas during movie shoot while stating that the act should be put to an end.

“It’s tiring for real. I remember Damilola Oni also complaining about the same thing when they asked her why they don’t make street movies anymore. The troubles they face from these thugs are too much.” A user commented.

“Toyin Abraham also faced almost the same thing a few days ago.” Another user shared.

“Entitled jobless souls. Always tryna make a buck off the wrong people. Instead of using that energy to work or better yet, protest the government.” Another user added.

The incident has once again brought attention to the challenges Nollywood filmmakers face while shooting on location, especially in areas where interference from local street groups has become frequent.
