Nollywood artist Stan Nze has expressed concerns over the declining value system in Nigeria following the massive phone theft at Service of Songs program held to mourn Alexx Ekubo.
Nze stated that more than five phones were stolen at the event which he hosted to mourn his friend, Alexx Ekubo.
“How can you come to a service of songs where people are mourning and grieving for the late Alexx Ekubo and you steal phones? More than five phones were missing yesterday.”
Nze stressed that limiting the suspected volume of stolen phones to five is an attempt to not exaggerate. He added that the event’s security had to temporarily block exit at some points to search for the missing phones.
Nze furthered that this represents a broader value decline among Nigerians. According to him, most Nigerians have very poor values and always blame the government for everything, even when they are also not of exemplary characters.
“We are always complaining about the government, but if we chase everyone from the government, who will enter there? Still the citizens,” he added.
Nze’s statement aligns with similar reports of the theft of ex-BBN Star BamBam’s phone. While a trending video showed someone taking BamBam’s phone, she stated that the individual is her PA and didn’t steal the phone.
“I feel so sad after I lost my phone last night at the late actor Alexx Ekubo’s service of songs in Lagos. What would make any human being come to such a place and steal people’s phones? It wasn’t only mine; my friend and another man also løst theirs. You people should stop dragging my PA, she didn’t steal it from me.” she noted.
