Popular Nigerian singer, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng popularly known as Skales has come under criticism on social media after stating that there is currently no candidate worthy of support in the 2027 general election.
The musician’s comment, which quickly gained attention online, sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians, with many disagreeing with his assessment of the country’s political landscape ahead of the next election cycle. While stressing that Skales’s remarks are indirectly supporting APC and re-election of President Tinubu against all others.
A user commented:
“Jonathan must go”
“Buhari must go”
Tinubu -blank
Gettout abeg”
However, Others accused the singer of promoting voter apathy and discouraging citizens from participating in the democratic process.
Also, several commentators maintained that although Nigerians may be dissatisfied with some political leaders, it is premature to conclude that no credible candidate will emerge before the 2027 elections. Others urged voters to remain engaged and continue demanding accountability from elected officials.

Fair.
But Nigeria won’t be governed by your dream candidate. It will be governed by whoever gets the most votes. No candidate is perfect. The job is to choose the better option, not wait for an angel and do nothing. Nigeria is partly where it is because too many people confuse political apathy with intelligence.Refusing to choose doesn’t make you neutral. It just means other people chose for you. And what a stupidly naive game to play with your life.”
The debate has continued across social media platforms, highlighting growing public interest in the country’s political future and the expectations surrounding the 2027 polls.
As discussions intensify, Skales has yet to issue any further clarification regarding his comments.
