A Nigerian man has shared details of how a drastic action by a group of tenants prompted their landlord to review his inconsiderate gate-closing time policy.
An X user identified as TheMrBachelor revealed that his landlord has changed their official gate closing time after falling victim to the rule he set.
He explained that the landlord had a rule of locking their house gate by 9:30pm every night. According to him, whoever comes late even by a minute will not be granted access into the compound.
However, the Landlord recently went out with his family and came back home late. He stated that the landlord arrived around 9:50pm, exceeding the 9:30pm curfew.
In response, the tenants refused to open the gate, complying with his strict gate closure rule. This forced the landlord and his family to source for somewhere else to pass the night.
Consequently, this compelled him to change the curfew to 10:30pm to accommodate other late comers.
The X user narrated that;
Yesterday night, after back and forth, after serious dragging and insults, he added 1hr to it and adjusted the time to 10:30pm he knew we did it to get back at him, he said he can’t even tell any of his friends or other landlords his tenants locked him outside, he then asked why I was not picking, I said I used meds and slept off earlier!
He added that the tenants, alongside the landlord, all apologized to each other.
“We eventually apologized and he apologized sincerely too, no one was expecting it probably his wife talked to him or something else but I could see the pain in his eyes even though he was still sounding firm, with stern warning! Sometimes Revolt is what you need for a change!” he added.
Meanwhile, netizens have hailed the tenants, arguing that their actions taught the landlord an important lesson.
