Enough is Enough: RCCG debunks false political narratives about Pastor Adeboye

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has countered false political narratives about General Overseer Pastor E.A. Adeboye regarding Nigeria’s current state.

The RCCG in a June 2 statement described some of the narratives as “lies that have gone on long enough”.

According to the Church;

For far too long, Pastor E.A. Adeboye and The Redeemed Christian Church of God have been subjected to false narratives, deliberate misrepresentations, and misleading commentaries driven by personal interests and agenda setting.

Regarding claims that the RCCG campaigned for the government in power, the church disclosed that Pastor Adeboye has always encouraged congregants to get their PVC and vote for anyone of their choice. They added that he has always maintained a neutral stance on political parties.

The church furthered that Pastor Adeboye also didn’t call off any planned protest as purported. They argued that the G.O only communicated the plans of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

Additionally, the Church stated that Pastor Adeboye has on several occasions spoken about national issues like insecurity, corruption, governance, etc.

“However, he often chooses the language of moral guidance, prayer, and counsel rather than partisan political confrontation,” the statement added.

Interestingly, the church’s statement comes as part of a broader campaign to counter false narratives. The church has in other tweets, countered multiple arguments and narratives regarding their activities.
