FIFA has entered a partnership with YouTube to stream the first 10 minutes of every match, and full matches of selected games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The announcement made on May 1, indicates that the first 10 minutes of all World Cup games will be streamed live on FIFA’s YouTube channel. This is expected to give viewers a preview before switching to other platforms for the full matches.
Additionally, certain selected full matches will also be streamed on YouTube, marking the first for a World Cup tournament.
“FIFA is delighted to welcome YouTube as a preferred platform for the FIFA World Cup 2026. By spotlighting FIFA’s premium content and unlocking new opportunities for media partners and creators, this agreement will engage global fans in ways never seen before,” said FIFA secretary general Mattias Grafström.
FIFA explained that the move will help maximize the tournament’s impact across the evolving media landscape. This will allow fans to gain easier access to the competition across different parts of the world.
The partnership will also allow media partners to publish extended highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, and other World Cup content.
